I usually title these types of recipes as energy bites but I thought Almond Joy Bliss Bites was more appropriate than Almond Joy Energy bites. Especially because each bliss bite offers a divine and decadent experience!

These bites definitely earned the bliss bite title!

These gluten-free almond joy energy bites are a nourishing and filling alternatives to Almond Joys, which yes, they are gluten-free.

In fact, according to the Hershey company, all of the Almond Joy candies are considered gluten-free except for the Almond Joy pieces.

About these Almond Joy Bliss Bites

These Almond Joy Bliss Bites are gluten-free and oat-free. While yes, oats are celiac-safe, many people with celiac disease find they don’t tolerate them. So this recipe is oat-free and gluten-free.

The ingredients include shredded coconut and coconut butter to give that almond joy flavor and texture!

Cocoa powder and chocolate chips to add all of the chocolate vibes we know and love in an Almond Joy.

Almonds and almond butter to bring in the Almond flavor of the Almond Joys. And last but not least, agave to add  sweetness. But you could also substitute it for honey or other liquid sweetners.

So let’s make these energy balls, shall we?

Almond Joy Bliss Bites

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup shredded coconut + extra for rolling
  • 1 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips (vegan & gluten-free)
  • 12 almonds whole
  • 2 tbsp coconut butter
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • 2 tbsp Agave

Instructions

  • In a bowl mix together the shredded coconut, cocoa powder, and chocolate chips
  • Then add in almond butter, cocotnut butter, and agave
  • Using your hands mix together the ingredients well until dough-like consistency forms
  • Once dough-like consistency is formed, roll into 1 tbsp-sized balls, placing 1 whole almond in the center
  • Enjoy!

Notes

If you don't have coconut butter you can use almond butter in it's place. The bliss bites just won't resemble almond joys as much as they would if you used coconut butter.
