Garlic Beet Hummus
Every time I buy beets, I realize that I don’t eat them enough.
Beets have such a delicious earthy flavor that adds depth to any dish.
This Garlic Beet Hummus is the perfect thing to upgrade your party dips! Not only is it vibrant and colorful but it’s packed full of flavor and extra nutrients.
Beets are well-known for being basically a superfood due to their high antioxidant activity and nutrient content.
They are packed full of Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Magnesium, Potassium, Folate, and fiber.
The purple color found in beets is due to their high betalain pigment content. This pigment betalain is also an antioxidant which is why the deep color of this root vegetable indicates high antioxidant activity.
Adding beets to any dish really can help that dish pack a nutrient dense punch! I chose to incorporate them into hummus because I am always looking for new ways to upgrade my hummus for my next party!

Garlic Beet Hummus
- 1 can beets drained
- 1 can chickpeas drained
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 cup Lemon Juice
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Drain the liquid from the can of beets and the can of chickpeas
- Add in all of the ingredients to a food processor and process until smooth
- Transfer to airtight container and keep in fridge for up to 1 week
